The right to public assembly is a basic human right. Lesbian group Kontra regularly organizes various forms of public gatherings of LGBT people – protests, public actions, Pride events, marches. We organized first Prides in Zagreb and Split.
The Constitutional Court has annulated the ban on public gatherings on St. Mark’s Square in front of state institutions on the basis of a proposal for the evaluation of constitutionality of the Public Assembly Act that we submitted, together with other civil society organizations.

Due to violations of the right to public assembly at Split Pride in 2011, we filed a lawsuit against the Republic of Croatia.
