M.I.A. – Institute for Mobilization, Intervention and Action Overall objective: The overall objective to which the action aims is to stimulate the implementation of EU and national anti-discrimination policies in labor market. This objective follows EU policies (Directive 2000/78/EC) and contributes towards the implementation of positive measures related to the Acquis Communautaire in the Republic of Croatia. Specific objectives: 1. Strengthen capacities of the leaders from the 3 national trade unions for dealing with cases of discrimination based on sexual orientation of individuals and working on improvement of working conditions of LGB population; 2. To inform LGB population on their rights at the work place and available institutes of support; 3. To stimulate positive environment among general public related to LGB population and their position in the working community. Target group(s) and final beneficiaries: Target groups are Trade union leaders and commissaries. The final beneficiaries are LGB community and Croatian society in general. Estimated results: * 220 trade union leaders and commissaries trained to provide support to LGB workers related with discrimination at the work place. * Established system of support against discrimination based on sexual orientation at workplace; * New area (chapter) of the trade union actions (area of work) has been created. * Relevant information for LGB people about their labor rights, institutes of legal support and how to report about discrimination at the work place will become easily accessible * LGB population will become stimulated and encouraged to report discrimination ask for legal support; * General public will gain insight in the situation of discrimination of the LGB population at the work place and labor market due intensive public promotional activities as well as media reporting about project implementation and its issues.
